Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after March of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to create a third set.

Moutet saved 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
